Flaws with the manual process:

–

attendance lists can be misplaced when circulated,

–

the time it takes for students to complete these lists,

–

students no having enough time to sign the list,

–

attention span that is lost when the list is sent around and signed,

–

paper-based attendance lists are not easy to archive/record,

–

students not signing lists (missing the list, forgetting about it or a

student that didn’t send it along to the next student or row),

–

students signing for their friends,

Manual attendance-taking

usually take the form of lists (multiple pages or a

pre-created attendance log book) sent around

class which students need to fill in and/or sign.
